Not to be mean in the least. but wh does Americas Got Talent seem to exploit the occasional social reject?

I'm not rejecting the poor timid things, the show does, and at the persons emotional expense. Can you imagine how sad they must be off camera? Shouldn't someone along the ladder of getting onto the show be responsible enough the psych profile people for their own good...not that they should tell the reason directly to the person, but. ...some of these people, super timid, and they bomb bad, and it sees they must feel so defeated and humiliated once they go home, you know. Its just the occasional timid person. I cringe when I see them so obviously humiliated. Anyone else see this?
