How big of a hard drive can I place on a desktop that maxes out at 1 GB RAM?

I say this because I was in track my senior year an only lost one pound every 2 weeks and I was jogging on average 5 miles a day. What i'm trying to get at is that people say all these miracle pills don't work yet I tried some cheap diet pill recently(HYDROXYCUT) they were on the budget side I guess $29somethin and in 30 days went from 160 to 145 running on average 2 mile a day with a balanced diet. so it make me think do some of these pills work. Is a 3G USB internet device compatible with a 5 year old desktop PC?

I switched from a broadband connection with a wall cable to a USB card because Sprint said it would be equally fast and would cost me less per month. Since I installed the USB device, my connection has been less than .10 MB/sec, which is too slow to listen to on-line radio or watch video clips. It took me over 20 minutes to download a song from itunes. Mac OSX install dvd is so you can re-install Snow Leopard (the operating system) on your Mac in case you decide to re-format your computer. This disc should also have your iLife applications (like iMovie, iPhoto, etc...). The Applications Install DVD has additional software if you have a specific need for it (you not being a techie means you most likely don't need what it has to offer). Keep both of them in a safe place in case the need arises that you need them again. They are both very valuable discs for you to keep.

How do I clone my new hard drive and make it my boot drive?

I have a compaq presario and am using Windows XP. I recently purchased a 1TB hard drive to add or replace my exsisting hard drive. Right now i have it in there just as added storage space but really need to have it running the show seeing how it's almost 8 times the size of my current hard drive. I have put a few programs and documents over on the new drive (just stored there) and want to know if I clone my C drive onto my new HD will I lose the stuff that's on the new HD already? Or will it keep those things in addition to bringing all my other stuff over? Also, is it a simple process like the instruction book that came with my hard drive says or is it way too complicated for a non computer techie to handle? You're suggestions are greatly appreciated!

How can I get my computer working again?

Ok, so forgive me for being technologically retarded, but I need help. My computer was running at 100% for 30 minutes before I was able to do a system restore to get it back to a better state. Upon restarting, windows wouldn't get up and go. It transferred me to a screen saying to either perform Startup Recovery or start windows normally. Obviously starting it normally doesn't work, but neither does the Startup Repair. It goes to a black screen with nothing but the cursor. I have tried going the F8 route and trying for safe mode, but it won't go either. I suppose I should say it is windows 7 and it's on my laptop. It's a Toshiba Satellite C655-S5132. If that's important... Like I said, I'm less than technologically inclined. Any other information that would be deemed pertinent is probably something I don't know anything about. So I apologize for any lack thereof. I'd say its misplaced consideration. Women want a male that has not only respect for them but also has a sexual interest in them, I know it sounds odd to some guys but its true. Women are looking for that guy that make them feel "wanted" so Im sure the guy who was making small talk just either came off as cheesy or the girl didn't find him attractive at all to begin with which is common and ok. You may see women as a victim and you might be inadvertently looking for a women whom you can rescue. The problem with that is women dont really need or want rescuing when it comes to courtship. I'm not fat or super fit but i get out of breath easily, why?

I'll try and make this as simple and as short as possible. Okay, I'm 23, he's 56. Just putting it out there. He's admitted that he's narcissisitc and has no problem with it. I've stopped telling him that I was done...and it's like..his used to be ..."I want to see you" and so forth has died down to..all we do is talk about him, his accomplishments and so forth...I can't get away from him, and I want too. I'm like..I'm putting my love life on hold, FOR OVER A YEAR, to wait on him to make a move and I just don't see it happening.This man has an answer for everything..involving the things that he wants to talk about...but the last time I asked to see him (rare that I ask), he waited about 15-20 seconds to answer and said.."it'll be sooner than later.'' Help! Touching things is like nails-on-chalkboard?

I have had episodes of this since I can remember. I will simply reach out to touch something and it feels painful in a nails-on-chalkboard kind of way. I literally pull my hand away and cringe. It doesn't seem to happen when touching anything in particular and I also notice it happens when I'm walking and I'm barefoot around the house. I will step and cringe in pain. I'm a veterinary technician and being so, part of my job is to recommend certain services and products. We have to recommend Science Diet food to clients. If a pet is overweight, put them on science diet w/d, if the pet has allergies, recommend science diet z/d, etc... its the only brand we, and most animal hospitals sell. The problem is I don't feel comfortable recommending it. I think the food is absolute crap. I personally feed my pets blue buffalo, and I wish I could recommend it to clients. Tethering a HTC EVO 4G Sprint Phone to a PC?

Anytime I do this to provide Net access to my laptop, it shuts down Sprints network and runs off of WiFi only. I wouldn't need to tether the phone to the laptop if WiFi was available. So is there any way to tether the laptop to the phone and get net access for the laptop WITHOUT having to fork out the extra $60 a month that Sprint wants for the service? There is no high speed internet available where I live, so its using the mobile phone or go for a drive. I play a lot of Steam powered games that require internet access just to install. Even if I only intend on playing them single player at home, I still require the net access to do it. I want to be able to install some of my Steam powered games at home instead of having to drive someplace to find a open WiFi connection to install the games.

How can I tell if my cat has a broken/fractured rib?

She's little over 5 months, and loves to climb on top of the fridge. A few days ago she fell behind it, and since then she's been anti-social, which is odd for her. She's hardly eating and when she moves she wobbles and limps. She lets us pet her (when she comes out from behind the couch) but only on the head. No signal from video card?

I just bought a GeForce 210 to replace a functional 9800GT with a broken fan. After installing the 210, I get no signal to my monitor. So, because I decide on uninstalling the old drivers might solve my problem, I put the old card back in. Now that card wont give a signal. The GALAXY tech support guys told me that I might have confused the motherboard or somehow messed up a setting. So, they tell me to refresh the CMOS. After following the manufacturers instructions to refresh the CMOS, I'm still not getting any signal from wither of the cards. Please help me fix this. There is no onboard video so I have to use a card. It cant be the power supply, like one of the techies suggested, because the 9800GT is a more powerful card, and if it worked with that it should work easily with the 210.

I don't think you would feel comfortable running along the abandoned road, there is a reason your parents drilled the 'stranger danger' stuff into you and if you twisted an ankle or something and couldn't walk you might be hard to find. Your dog might be able to keep up with you but consider they have to train to be in condition too. It might be best not to put the dog through that, especially in the summer heat. A miniature poodle can't really protect you. I suggest you run along the highway (facing the traffic) and believe me, when people see a runner, they admire that they go out and run and get exercise, not what you could possibly look like. All this is good, but two weeks is a short time. Best to have a longer range routine, like 3 or 4 times a week for as long as you live. Be sure to drink at least a liter of water per day. I use bottled water as there may be dangerous chemicals in the tap water. When I work out I carry at least two half liter bottles of water.

URGENT!!!!: fake security alert virus!?

I think my computer is infected right now idk what happened. I accidently allowed one of the fake security alert popups and it lead me to weird things and I figured it was fake. and now more popups that are posing as windows security is coming up and now my firefox(which used to work because i had problems with the internet) won't even open because the "vista security 2012 firewall alert" popup comes up and tells me to activate it. so...basically I can't do anything on my computer without encountering that stupid popup and at this point I'm REALLY REALLY frustrated and is willing to do anything that will fix this....please help. Top Secret Security Clearance?

I recently joined the Navy and my job requires a Top Secret Security Clearance. I am 22 years old. When I was 18-19 I had 2 credit cards that went into collections. The total of both of them was around $1,000, maybe less, and I have also had a few other accounts go to collections. A bank account for about $350, a Sprint account for around $500 and another account for about $200. I have PAID all of these accounts in full recently (about a week ago). Honestly you wont be able to get up at 5am to jog for an hour, then 45 minute sprint, then elipticle for 45min, jump rope for 30min , and punching bag 30 min, thats like a professional athletes cardio lol(not really but wtv) unless you have VERY VERY good cardiovascular indurance you wont be able to, i'd say youd be alright with 1hr in total, since your still young and you dont wanna use up all ur time on that.. have a good summer, and remember to have fun!

Also, I could use the more powerful processer in it to use more in depth video editing software and Photoshop. Id just like to know if any of you had any opinions on what I should buy. ok so i have fujitsu siemens scaleo p desktop, it`s about 2 years old. Bought it brand new never changed any hardware, recently it froze up and now doesn't recognise my 250 gb sata hard disk. I thought it may have been the hard disk that failed so i swapped for an old 80 gb ide hard disk which is recognised by the bios. My problem is when i do a fresh install of xp i just keep getting looped after the first restart of installation. You sound like a very intelligent and evolved young lady. I hated my teenage years, too. I hate nothing more than when adults say those are the best years of your life, because that's just not true! I am 20 now, and yes, teenage life is more sheltered...adult life has more challenges, but being able to handle things yourself is just more satisfying. Even if you fail, it helps you grow! It's alright if your friends are older. I guess my only suggestion is, you should research emancipation. Any individual that is sixteen or older has the freedom to emancipate themselves, which means you are completely independent. But be very careful, because there are things to think about..I doubt your parents will like this idea, and if you are able to emancipate yourself, I think your parents need to consent. They will not be forced to pay for healthcare and other very important things. I don't know much else so, as I said, do detailed research. I would also try sitting and talking to your parents about these feelings, if you haven't yet. I think that if you came to them stating that you feel trapped and isolated, they might understand. I mean if you starve yourself and burn massive calories like you are doing you will end up a skinny, 90 LB weakling and I know that is not what you are going for. You should be eating lots of lean skinless chicken breasts. stay away from bread. Eat lots of low fat cottage cheese. Drink 1% milk. Eat fruits and veggies, too. Eat 5 times a day, at the same times every day (this means eat healthy snacks so you can build muscles while speeding up your metabolism so you have lots of energy and can lift more. You should make the world your gym. Drop and to pushups several times during the day. At a minimum you should be doing at least 100 pushups per day, 200 crunches. Try benching as much weight as you can at 4 reps of ten. IMPORTANT: All of this should only be done if you are medically cleared for this type of exersize. Meaning it is a good idea to get a sports physical from a doctor and talk to him or her about your goals. Get strong, Be strong. You are not overweight, you are under-strong. Working on a techie helmet-thing?

It consists of a FLIR monocular, speakers and several other parts. The only part I kind figure out for myself is i have a second monocular fitted with mirrors to a 3.5" LCD screen. Serious laptop trouble.?

Can't breathe when jogging for short time?

I'm not overweight, but even when I try jogging for a very very short amount of time I get out of breathe. I tried doing track earlier in the year but quit after a few days because it was embarrassing to always be in the back during practice. I can jog for a short time but if I keep pushing myself I feel like I'm going to have a heart attack or pass out. Also, when I was doing track I wanted to do something short like the 100 yard dash because I've always been a fast short distance runner. But when I tried it, I got about 10 yards and felt like I was going to die. After I got home I tried doing a sprint down the street and did just fine. Could it be something about being around other people? I am a 14 year old girl, by the way. I don't think it's something about "not enough lung capability" because I have played the trumpet for 5 years.

yes and no... it will fit. but the power supply that you have in the computer is too weak and does not have a PCI-E power connector. You will need to upgrade the power supply as well to at least 500 watt power supply. the 300 stock power supply that came with the system is too weak and does not have the necessary connector available.

I've had a couple of dreams that have felt so realistic like that, it's very rare, but it can happen. The pain in your chest was probably from the stress you felt from adrenaline...I wouldn't worry too much. I know how terrifying those dreams can be, and you might even feel that way for a few days after because they are so powerful, but like I said, just try not to worry about it. Go about your life as normal, and try to keep your mind off of it. If it makes you feel better, just approach things a little more carefully than normal...drive carefully, don't go out alone late at night, etc.

I've had this problem many times. I rest a few days and do a lot of stretching, particularly stretching the opposite side of the injury. For shins the opposite side would be the calf area. Stretch a lot and begin running again. If it still hurts rest and stretch and repeat cycle until the problem is gone. Anti Inflammatory meds will help too.

Today, I ran the 100m sprint in 12.47 and I just recovered from a chest infection. My friend in the race with me ran 12.09, we're both 13 going on 14. Im the same exact way, i just started back doing it and i was completely embarassed. I wouldnt advise the back road since your a girl, as sad as that is to say. But if you do, most definitely take a knife with you because you never know what could happen. If you go on the highway just blast your music so you cant hear people passing by because people can be mean. Rogers pvr stuck recording station I don't want?

I own a Rogers PVR. Seems the unit is stuck constantly recording channel 539, although it does not appear on the list and I have not set it to record. I've tried re booting several time with no success. You should be able to record a show while watching another channel live, but when doing this the machine tells me it's recording 2 channels. And, also, since this is the beginning, you should play around. Maybe write the Jake-Lindsay conversation and head in a new direction. What if they teased each other a lot? What if they were a bit awkward? Or maybe change the way you write, or change the first paragraph of the story. A famous author once said that the first 100-1000 words you write are the worst. My suggestion is that you get through those words as fast as possible and keep trucking. Remember, this is YOUR novel. Anything can happen. Jake could be the one that pushed Maria in front of the truck. Hell, Jake could be a ZOMBIE! As long as you have the WHY behind the actions, it's all cool.
